What is wrong

Some of your URLs are longer than 2048 characters. A URL this long becomes unwieldy to share, cache and process. Search engines can handle them, but they are a sign of poor site structure—usually because pages are being generated with unnecessarily long parameter strings instead of being organized into clear folders and pages with short, readable paths.

Why it costs you

Long URLs cause friction in the real world. People cannot easily email them or paste them into documents. Some email clients, messaging apps and social platforms will truncate or break them entirely. If someone needs to share a page or reference it later, a 2048-character string is impractical.

How to fix it

Restructure the pages in question to use shorter, cleaner URLs. Instead of a single script that builds pages from many query parameters, organize your content into a folder hierarchy where the URL itself describes what the page is. For example, `/products/shoes/running/nike-air-zoom/` is clear and human-readable, whereas `/index.php?cat=products&subcat=shoes&type=running&brand=nike&model=air-zoom&session=abc123` is not. Review your site architecture and template system to reduce parameter bloat. If you use dynamic pages, move values into the URL path itself rather than query strings.
