WordPress SEO Audit Plugin
Run a technical SEO audit of your site from your own WordPress dashboard. It checks against 101 technical checks, 48 of them requirements stated in Google’s own documentation, and it needs a free Lala SEO account.
You need a free account. The plugin signs its requests with a Lala SEO key, and a key belongs to an account — so the audits it starts have somewhere to live and somewhere to be read. Create one, or sign in if you have one. It costs nothing.
Why use it
Most WordPress SEO plugins read your pages from inside WordPress, before anything has been served. This one does the opposite: pressing the button starts a real crawl from our servers, over the network, so the report is about what a search engine is actually served — after redirects, caching and any CDN in front of you.
-
It checks the page that was served, not the one that was meant.
A plugin can only see what WordPress intended to publish. Plenty of SEO problems
are created after that point, by a redirect, a cache or a CDN, and none of them
are visible from the inside.
We crawl as
LalaSEOBotand obey the Googlebot rules in your robots.txt. We read your site as a crawler; we do not impersonate one. - Nothing heavy runs on your server. The crawl, the 101 checks and the report all happen on lalaseo.com. The plugin sends a request and shows you the result, so it cannot slow your site down.
- It sends two things and forgets them when you uninstall. Your site’s home address and your Lala SEO key. Nothing else leaves your server — no post content, no database, no visitor data — and uninstalling deletes the key and the last audit’s status, on every site of a multisite install.
- Every finding is re-checked against your live page. The same verification the website does, because the audit the plugin starts is the same audit, run by the same code.
Install it and run the first audit
-
Download the plugin. Use the button above. Do not unzip it
— WordPress wants the
.zip. - Upload it to WordPress. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the file, then Install Now and Activate.
- Create your key. Here on Lala SEO, open your account and press Create a key under Site plugin. Copy it straight away — it is shown once and not again.
- Connect the plugin. Back in WordPress, go to Tools → Lala SEO, paste the key and save.
- Run the audit. Press Run audit. A small site takes about a minute and a large one several; the report appears in your Lala SEO account when it is finished.
Audits the plugin starts belong to your account and follow the same rules as any other, so a free account crawls up to 300 pages per audit. There is no monthly page limit and no limit on how many audits you run — up to three at a time. What the plans include.
Chrome, Safari and Edge Not built yet
A browser plug-in would audit whatever page you are looking at, without pasting the address. It is convenience rather than capability — everything it would do, the box on the home page already does, including the This page only option for a single page.
Status: not started. It sits behind the work that changes what the tool can tell you, and we would rather say so than call it “in development” and leave you waiting.
There is no waitlist, because we are not taking email addresses for something that does not exist and has no date. When it is built, it will appear on this page.
