What is wrong
Your pages have sections that are longer than 800 words without a heading that is phrased as a question. Search engines increasingly show featured snippets—direct answers pulled from web pages—and question-shaped headings make it easier for them to match your content to the questions people actually type into Google.
Why it costs you
When your long sections lack question headings, search engines cannot easily identify which part of your page answers which question. This means your content may not appear in featured snippets or in AI-powered answers that appear above traditional search results. Visitors searching for specific answers may also feel the page is hard to scan and leave before finding what they need.
How to fix it
Review your longer sections and add headings phrased as questions where they fit naturally. For example, instead of a heading that says "Troubleshooting", use "Why is my device not turning on?" or "How do I reset the settings?" These should go in your page template or directly into pages where long text blocks exist without question headings. Keep the questions specific and relevant to what that section actually explains.
What the audit tests
- Long pages (800+ words) have at least three H2 subheadings
- Long pages (800+ words) have at least one H2 subheading phrased as a question
