What is wrong
When you share a page on social media, the website tells Facebook, Twitter and other platforms which page you're really talking about using a special tag called og:url. If that tag points to a different page than the one someone is actually viewing, social platforms become confused about which page to show a preview of when someone shares your link.
Why it costs you
The main cost is poor sharing behaviour. When someone shares your page on social media, the preview card may show the wrong title, description, or image—the one from the mismatched page. This makes people less likely to click through, because they see information they didn't expect. It also fragments your social signals across multiple URLs instead of concentrating them on the page you wanted credit for.
How to fix it
To fix this, find the og:url tag in the page's HTML header and change it to match the actual page address. If you use the same template for many pages, edit the template once so the og:url tag automatically uses the correct address for each page. For example, change `<meta property="og:url" content="https://example.com/wrong-page">` to `<meta property="og:url" content="https://example.com/actual-page">`, or use a dynamic variable that pulls the current page's URL.
