What is wrong
Your domain registration has expired or been suspended by your registrar. This means your website is no longer publicly accessible online, or will stop being accessible within days.
Why it costs you
When a domain is suspended, search engines remove your pages from their results and visitors see an error page instead of your content. Any traffic you were getting stops immediately. If the suspension lasts long enough, search engines may delete your site from their index entirely, and rebuilding visibility takes months even after you restore it.
How to fix it
Contact your domain registrar urgently to renew or reinstate your registration. Check your registrar's website or the email address associated with your domain account—they usually send renewal reminders 10 days before expiry. If you have received no notice, log into your registrar account directly to check the expiration date and payment status, then complete renewal or reactivation straightaway.
What the audit tests
- The domain is not in the redemption period after lapsing
- The domain is not queued for deletion (pending delete)
- The registrar has not put the domain on hold
- The registry has not put the domain on hold
- The domain has nameservers assigned (not marked inactive)
