What is wrong

Your domain registration is set to expire within 30 days. A domain is the web address people type in to reach your site—when it expires, your site stops working and visitors cannot access it at all.

Why it costs you

When a domain expires, your website disappears from the internet. Search engines stop serving your pages in results. Email addresses tied to that domain stop working. Any links people have bookmarked or shared become dead ends. If someone else buys your expired domain, they control your web address and can do what they like with it.

How to fix it

Renew your domain registration immediately with your domain registrar—the company where you originally bought it. Log into your account on their website, find the renewal option, and extend the registration for as many years as you need. Set up auto-renewal if the registrar offers it, so the domain renews automatically each year without you having to remember.

What the audit tests
