The site rate-limited this crawl, so results are incomplete

One of the 136 checks Lala SEO runs on every page of a site in a free audit.

How serious
Worth fixing. Weakens how Google reads or shows the page. Fix after the serious ones.

What is wrong

Your web server rejected our crawler because it was making requests too quickly. When we tried to scan your site, the server sent back HTTP 429 or 503 status codes telling us to slow down or try again later. As a result, we did not see all the pages and links on your site, so this audit is incomplete.

Why it costs you

Search engine crawlers face the same throttling. If Google's crawler hits these limits, it will crawl fewer pages from your site than it otherwise would. Some pages may never be found and indexed, so visitors searching for them will not see them in results.

How to fix it

Check your web server's rate-limiting settings. In most cases, you can raise the limits for well-behaved crawlers, or whitelist Google's IP addresses so their crawler is not throttled. If you use a hosting control panel, look for "rate limiting" or "connection limits" in the performance or security section. If you are unsure, ask your hosting provider to allow at least 1 connection per second from search engine crawlers, or to disable rate-limiting for the user agents Googlebot and Bingbot.
